Guys,
I want to first mention that is has been a pleasure to be one of the founding members and President of the VooDoo club the last 10 years. It has produced memories and experiences that will last the rest of my life. This is a great club and will always be dear to my heart.

With that being said I would like to take this time to notify everyone in the club that as of today I will be stepping down as president. I will not be quitting boating, just want to take it down a notch and get back to the times where I can enjoy myself. There were some things that happened last year and this year that really soured me about the way things were and are handled in the club and I am having a hard time shaking it off. Certain positions come with expected troubles and responsibilities and there comes a time when those things need to be passed on. I always said that if the time ever came that my position would hurt my love for this hobby then it would be time to remove myself from the position. Well that time is here and I would like to just become a normal club member and learn to enjoy the hobby again.I appreciate all the support I have received through the 10 years I have been President and would like to thank all of our members current and past for all that you have done.

Sincerely
Carlo Catalanotto

Guys,
I know I have not been to the pond much lately, but I should start having some more time soon. I have had a major project to work on that looks like is almost done for now. I have still been talking with club presidents and trying to get some stuff done for the season. I am going to try and make it out Sunday for a little while.

Here is part of the project that i have been working on. Randy Hicks finished the paint work a few weeks ago.

Guys,
I have a bunch of boats that are for sale. They all belong to Eric Lis who has gotten out of boating due to losing his pond. They are all priced right and I will have them at the pond with me On Sunday. If you are looking for a good way to get a boat for about half price than this is a good opportunity.

Thanks

Guys,
I have my personal Rampage 2 for sale. This will be sold ready to run or I can remove the engine, pipe for a price reduction, all you will need to do is add your radio and receiver. I am thinning the herd and this is the second and last boat up for sale. This boat has very little running time on it and has only been raced one time at the 2014 IMPBA Gas Nationals and was driven by Tom Drake whom I think placed third with it. This hull is a red top with a carbon fiber bottom. It has all black anodized Speedmaster hardware with CC Racing turnfins specifically for the Rampage 2. The turnfins and rudder have been sharpened for racing. It has CC Racing components throughout the boat: Radio Box, Billet 4 pc Servo Brackets, Billet Switch Mount, 1800mah 6.6v Life battery, T-bar, Engine mounts, Bag mount and custom 1/8 stainless steering and throttle rods with dubro kwik lock ends. It has a new (1 Race Only) CC Racing Beast Engine with all the goodies Including a set of Black anodized CC Racing Mounts and Throttle/Coil Relocator, Billet Carb block, Needle Clamp and Billet Diaphram (Pump) cover. It also has a brand new never used CC Racing Monster V2 Stainless pipe. It also comes with a Racers Edge 7316 3 blade Prop from Propworks West. It has a brand new 500mil gas bag that has never had fuel in it. This boat is ready to go racing and is practically brand new it is not some beat up old boat someone is looking to dump off this is a 1st class boat. It would cost over a thousand more to buy this boat new. This is a fast, strong running, very clean boat that was professionally built and whomever buys it will not be disappointed.

Guys,
I have my brand new Red and Black Whiplash for sale. I am only selling the hull and Hardware, you will need engine, pipe, receiver and prop to finish boat. I Payed $800 for just the bare hull painted. It is now finished and has all custom black anodized hardware including all engine mounts, Rear hardware and servo brackets. It has been painted by Randy Hicks and looks awesome. It has over $225 worth of brand new JR servos and a new 1800mah life battery, carbon covers for all 3 sections. I also have a brand new spare carbon cowl that has never even been mounted on the boat that goes with it. It has the large Stainless steering and throttle rod. It has never been raced and never ran hard I built it for the 2 lap trials and the water was too rough to run it when we were there. I am asking $1250 FIRM for the boat here on VooDoo first then after a few days I am putting it on Jims. THis is a first class boat with a lot of extra stuff done to it that normal boats don't have. All you will need is engine, pipe, receiver and prop to finish it. The CC Racing is decals and can easily be removed. This boat is perfect with no flaws. It has never been flipped, dunked or stuffed and only has about 20 easy laps on it. Everything is brand new.

New Year for VooDoo
emo
Guys,
Happy New year to everyone and I hope everyone has had a great holiday season. In case you missed it we had our first meeting of the year and discussed all of our plans for the upcoming year. We had a lot of new very good ideas brought up that we will try to work on. We even put together a tentative schedule for races this year which I will post for everyone. We also voted on officer positions and the results are:

President- Carlo Catalanotto
Vice President- Randy Hicks
Secretary/Treasurer- Jesse Lee
Purser/Club Representative- Richard Landaiche

I think we have a great group of guys leading our club in the right direction. Make sure to thank these guys every now and then for stepping up and donating there time to help support our club and make it better for everyone.

One of our main goals for the upcoming year is to get our pond surveyed so that we can officially set records and hold record trials. If any of you know of a surveyor or have a way to get us one who can do the job for us please let any of the officers know as we would like to get this done as soon as possible.

Jeff,
If you are only going to join one then you should join IMPBA. All of the Series races will be IMPBA races this year. Which means if you plan to go to any of the travel races: Houston, Dallas, Huntsville or Mississippi then you will need your IMPBA card.

Guys,
I am still not quite recovered from the trip, but it was sure was a fun time. I am very happy that Nick got a record he worked very hard all weekend and drove his butt off. We had the boat on the setup board so many times I thought he was going to scream. We even had the motor out a few times replacing cranks. He definitely earned his record and it was good to see him learn as much as he did in such a short time.

I got really close to the record with my cat less then 1/10 off a second away but the water conditions just would not let me have it. The conditions just kept getting worse as the day went on and even with perfect lines and inches from the buoys the rough water and wind was just scrubbing too much time. It is really difficult to set records on 2-3" chop when the prop is only seeing the water every other 6 inches, but even with those conditions we almost got it. The old girl did her best and looked like a million bucks, but we came up just a little short. We will get it next time. I even let Juice run my cracker so that he at least had something to do and he got so close to the record (Less then 1/10 of a second)it was ridiculous. All we did was charge the battery grease the shaft and sent him out with it.Maybe next time we can prep the old girl and loosen her up some and we can get the Crackerbox record too.

Mark and Rick Grim did a great job with their gas scale boat and the Jersey skiff and got about 5 or 6 new records. I gave Rick the engine out of my Black Rampage mono to put in his Jersey skiff for the weekend and he upped the record by 4 mph. Needless to say he did not want to give it back. Mark redid my rigger and updated some of the 6 year old stuff and I gave him a new big block engine for it and even when he was testing in the rough water we knew it was going to be fast. He made some short passes where he shut it off early because of the choppy water and coasted through at 106mph. I will be really surprised if we ever get to run it in some decent conditions if it does not go over 115mph. We did manage to get the rigger SAW record with mark waiting until it was nearly pitch black when the wind died a little for a pass of 111.44 then the back up pass was only 103 as he could not see the boat. It was still good enough for a average of 107.39 which still got us the record.

This weekend was a great time and kind of rejuvenated me again with our hobby. I think I really needed it and I am really glad I made the trip. I have so many things I want to try and test now that it is ridiculous. I had a lot of conversations with guys from around the country about the VooDoo club and everyone was very positive. We really need to get on the stick and get our pond surveyed as I was asked several times when we were going to host a 2-lap trial.

Thanks for all the kind words and have no doubt VooDoo had a strong showing.

Guys,
Please use this post to let people in the club know when you are going to the pond. Often there are guys that would like to go, but don't want to be the only ones there. So if you are going on an off day or something like that use this post to let others know. I will make this a permanent post and do my best try to delete all the post each Monday morning so that this always stays up to date. Please keep the info on this post related to who is going to the pond on a certain day.

Guys,
I just wanted to let all of you know that I had a wonderful conversation with Miss Dee the Park Ranger and Manager for Holmes County State Park. She was very happy to know that we were still interested in holding events there at the park. I will be getting with her to get all the details so that we can put IMPBA/NAMBA insurance on the pond. I told her that my job as District Director is to schedule events in out District and I will do my best to schedule at least two events there for next year. I think with just a little support we can make sure that the use of that facility will be safe for a long time to come.

Thanks
